Data Visualization Using Tableau
These are visualizations of data sets I created using Tableau between 2010 and 2014. The purpose of each visualization is included in a brief description below the corresponding screenshot. Each Tableau dashboard is available by clicking one of the buttons below the description.
Distraction in Action: Distress
Professionals and parents may rate a child’s distress differently. This set of visualizations summarizes how distress is impacted by a professional distraction coach and how those relate to expectations prior to the procedures. This was completed to develop data insights used by the Distraction in Action team.
Crime, Education, & Income
Knowing how education and income relate to crime is important for any society! This set of visualizations explores the relationship between the average crime rates, education level, and income in Iowa and in the United States. This was completed as part of the course requirements for the University of Iowa Data Visualization course.
College of Public health Career Preparation
Colleges aim to prepare students for the real world but the needs of individual students tend to vary. This set of visualizations compares communication preferences and preparation preferences for various degree programs and the departments that provide them. This was completed as part of a project for the University of Iowa College of Public Health
Asthma in Iowa
Health researchers use this data to help identify “hot spots” of asthma related illnesses and events. This set of visualizations sheds light on how the rates of hospital admissions change over time for 4 Iowa counties.
A Better Ben: Health Insights
Personal insights into health can impact behavior change and reinforce healthy behaviors. These visualizations are a glimpse into my own personal health data related to sleep, weight, caloric intake, and macronutrients.
Malnutrition in the world
Malnutrition impacts life long health and development around the worlds. These visualizations help to identify places where malnutrition and obesity are greater risks compared to other countries and regions.
